Not all of my pieces have been made with the intention of being displayed in a gallery environment. In 2019, I displayed some work in a university window overlooking a Tesco Express across the road. Plastic 'Bag for Life('s)' were used as a drawing surface, while permanent marker was used in place of a sketching pencil.

I wanted to explore the idea that children grow up surrounded by commerce and advertising in the modern world and how this may effect them. The logo's of the bags seep through to the faces of the children, a stark reminder of the exposure money will have on us from an early age.

Now they have been removed from there original spot, I have displayed them on gallery walls for exhibitions. Although not quite the same effect, I think the base ideologies still stand and they create a stark contrast to the white walls of art spaces.
